Abstract submissions are invited for consideration for EMDRAA Conference 2025 which will be held in Adelaide, South Australia on 2 – 3 May 2025.

Registration and Attendance
All presenters must register to attend the Conference 2025 and are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and registration expenses.
Theme
Abstracts are welcome in any one of the following categories:
- application of EMDR outside single event traumas and PTSD
- dissociation and complex trauma
- mental health conditions including addiction
- OCD, depression, anxiety and phobias, chronic or complex pain conditions
- EMDR intensives and;
- other clinical presentations that can be understood from the adaptive information processing model.
Submission Guidelines
- Aligns with the EMDRAA 2025 Conference objective: to promote the integration of diverse EMDR applications by bridging research, practice, and innovation, fostering collaboration and advancing therapeutic outcomes.
- Explores how EMDR can be used to treat conditions other than single event traumas and PTSD.
- Incorporates the use of EMDR therapy across diverse populations, addressing unique needs and cultural considerations to enhance inclusivity and effectiveness in mental health treatment.
- Applicable to the clinical practice of a wide range of EMDRAA members
- Supports EMDRAA’s mission: To be the leading Australian authority on best practice EMDR therapy supporting mental health practitioners.
Presentation Type
Presentations can be submitted in the following categories:
- Oral Presentation
- Poster Presentation
At the review stage, the Scientific Committee may request to change the presentation preference submitted by the author to ensure the continuity of the conference program. For example, an oral presentation may be changed to a poster presentation or a poster presentation to an oral presentation. The decision of the program committee is final.
Oral Presentation
- Preferred presentation format: Face to face
- Live online or pre-recorded presentations will also be considered, however, face to face presentations will be prioritised.
- Please note the preferred presentation duration:
- 10 – 45-minute brief report on research of interest or case study
- 1 hour presentation
- 1.5-hour presentation
- Longer presentations will be considered but you may be asked to shorten your presentation.
Poster Presentation
- Detailed guidelines for poster size and formatting will be provided upon acceptance.
- Poster sessions will be held during the lunch breaks on conference days. Further information will be provided upon acceptance.
- At least one author needs to be present at the conference.
Instructions for Authors
- Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the EMDRAA Scientific Committee.
- Acceptance of abstracts will be based upon scientific qualities, clarity of presentation and suitability for our audience
- An individual submitting their abstract agrees that all work presented will conform to discipline-appropriate national or professional ethical standards
- The EMDRAA Scientific Committee reserves the right to contact authors, if required to clarify the nature of intended presentations prior to making decisions regarding their acceptance.
- Recordings of all presentations will be available to registrants through the online event platform for a period post-conference
- Based on conference attendee feedback and the review of the EMDRAA Scientific Committee, all oral presentation recordings may be added to the EMDRAA Webinar Library, accessible to all EMDRAA Members. You will be notified if you are selected. Please indicate if you do not give permission for your presentation to be added to the EMDRAA Webinar Library.
